OSCAR WILDE’S THE NIGHTINGALE AND THE ROSE

Brendan’s latest film was nominated for the Crystal Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015, followed by Official Selection in London, Krakow, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide Film Festivals.

The film was awarded Best Australian Short Film at the 2015 Melbourne International Film Festival.

Oscar Wilde’s The Nightingale and The Rose is a short animation made with two-time Archibald winning artist Del Kathryn Barton. The film had its genesis in a commission by the ARTAND Foundation (previously Art & Australia) when they asked Del in 2010 to reimagine the timeless fairytale with original artworks.

The film features the cream of Australian talent - Mia Wasikowska, Geoffrey Rush and David Wenham all lend their voices to the characters, while the striking original score is written and performed by multi-ARIA Award winning musician Sarah Blasko.

Produced by Angie Fielder of Aquarius films (Wish You Were Here, Lion) … look out for this hauntingly beautiful film at Australian and International festivals in 2015.
